IIM Mumbai launches a Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Leadership

The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai has partnered with Kailash Kher’s KKala to launch a one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Leadership for performing arts. This programme is all set to combine artistic skills with business leadership. The programme will begin its first intake in June 2026. It is specially designed for aspiring leaders from the field of creative entrepreneurship, performing arts, and visionary artists.

This Artepreneur PGDM shall include management frameworks with theatre, music, dance, and yoga. Moreover, it would help you navigate real-world complex challenges in this space. IIM Mumbai states this is a remarkable step towards bringing creative leadership to the forefront of business education.

IIT Madras to build a state-level dashboard for startups and innovation

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has partnered with Guidance Tamil Nadu to develop a state-level dashboard for startups and innovation. The platform shall be called Innovation – TN. It would offer a comprehensive overview of the startup ecosystem in Tamil Nadu. The idea is to showcase innovative expertise to different stakeholders such as investors, financial institutions, and other startup founders.

Guidance Tamil Nadu is an agency of the Government of Tamil Nadu, responsible for investment promotion. The idea is to help promote economic growth across the state. During the launch, Mr. Thiru T.R.B. Rajaa, Minister of Industries, Investment, Promotions, and Commerce, recalled the state government’s vision to make Tamil Nadu a national leader in innovation, advanced manufacturing, and inclusive economic growth.

IIT Madras Expands SWAYAM Plus Free AI Courses for School Teachers across India

In other news, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, is working on an initiative called ‘AI for All 2.0’. Under the initiative, the institute has expanded SWAYAM Plus free AI courses for school teachers from kindergarten to class 12th across India. These courses are 25 to 45 hours long and are provided for free of cost.

Courses including AI in Physics, AI in Chemistry, AI in Accounting, Cricket Analytics with AI, and AI/ML using Python, and AI for educators shall be available for all teachers as well as aspiring teachers. While the courses are free, those seeking a certification must pay a nominal fee and give a proctored exam at the centre.

UGC has granted autonomy to 8 universities

The University Grants Commission has granted autonomy category I to 8 central universities. These universities include Central University of Rajasthan, Central Sanskrit University, University of Delhi, Central University of South Bihar, University of Hyderabad, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Central University of Punjab, and Central University of HP.

With category I autonomy, these universities can exercise greater flexibility in academic and financial matters. Moreover, they would get the highest level of independence, allowing them to make their own decisions. This decision can lead to more diverse and innovative programmes and research opportunities at these 8 universities.

IIM Ahmedabad has inaugurated its Dubai campus

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has its first overseas campus in Dubai. The inauguration was attended by the Dubai Crown Prince and Indian officials. This step is a strategic move towards building academic collaborations and providing Indian education expertise to global learners.

This event also strengthens ties between India and the UAE in higher education. Furthermore, there were talks to conduct joint research in critical and emerging areas and academic capacity building. Additionally, the education minister also announced 12 new Atal Tinkering Labs in CBSE schools across the GCC countries with the idea of encouraging scientific curiosity and innovation.

AIIMS Delhi has launched a Never Alone AI app

On World Suicide Prevention Day, the All Indian Institue of Medical Science (AIIMS) announced an artificial intelligence-based mental health and wellness application called ‘Never Alone’. This app promotes mental health awareness among students while combating suicidal tendencies in college and university students.

This application focuses on screening, intervention, and post-intervention follow-up. Moreover, it is highly secure, personalised, and shall provide 24/7 support via WhatsApp. Students can get both virtual and offline consultations through the platform. This platform will cost only 70 paisa per student per day for the universities and colleges that wish to avail the service.

Patna boy Rohit Ranjan builds Arsii, Bihar’s first female humanoid

Rohit Ranjan from Patna, Bihar, has developed the first female multilingual humanoid robot. The robot is called Arsii. She has the capacity to perform tasks, engage in meaningful conversations, and build human connections. Arsii can converse in multiple languages such as English, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Kannada, Marathi, and Japanese. With Arsii, the goal is to bring technology and robotics to every school, home, and village in Bihar, regardless of the background.

Rohit Ranjan is a self-taught robotics engineer and the founder of a startup, NeoGenTech. He built Arsii with only INR 6,00,000 without any external funding. Currently, it is being incubated at the Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna, where it is receiving institutional support and expert mentorship. The goal is to take Arsii to national and global stages.
