NIRF rankings 2025 released!!

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings 2025 have been released. Every year, the Ministry of Education releases these rankings. You can check the rankings on the official website at nirfindia.org. The institutions are ranked on the basis of teaching quality, research output, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and peer perception. There are 16 categories in which institutions are ranked.

This year in the overall category, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, has ranked number 1, followed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, at the 2nd position. In the University category, the Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengaluru, is at rank 1, whereas the Jawaharlal Nehru University and the Manipal Academy of Higher Education rank 2 and 3 in the list. Moreover, in NIRF Open University Ranking 2025, IGNOU has maintained it’s rank 1.

IIT Roorkee announces no-code AI-enabled Digital Marketing certification course

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, has launched a new no-code AI marketing certificate. This certification is launched in partnership with Futuresense. This 6-month course starts on October 11 2025. The total course of the PG Certificate in AI-Enabled Digital Marketing & MarTech is INR 1,40,000 (excluding GST). The course also includes a 2-day optional IIT Roorkee campus immersion.

The course curriculum covers marketing strategies, AI-powered personalisation, 20+Gen AI and agentic tools, live AI clinic workshops, and capstone projects. Moreover, you get a chance to learn from the top IIT faculty members and marketing experts. It includes a total of 10 modules, equipped with the fundamental understanding of AI marketing, prompt engineering, and AI tools.

IIM Raipur launches 7 Management Development Programmes

The Indian Institute of Management Raipur has announced seven new Management Development Programmes (MDPs). These programmes shall begin in September 2025 under the Executive Education category. The seven MDPs cover areas such as strategic management, general management, information systems, HRM, and organisational behaviour.

The course curriculum shall include innovation, leveraging ChatGPT, digital transformation, co-creation, employee well-being, and more. Moreover, the course would cover healthcare management and business analytics, equipping you with the skills to manage and solve complex issues as well. Get ready to gain hands-on training from IIM Raipur.

Gujarat University to launch 6 new online courses

The Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, is set to launch six new online courses in the month of September. The academic session for these online courses shall begin officially from November 15. The University Grants Commission has recently given the green light to the university to make its first step towards digital education.

In the first phase of the launch, the university is going to offer three undergraduate and three postgraduate courses. These courses shall include BA in English, BCA, BCom, MSc in Mathematics, MA in English, and MCom. The university is yet to announce the fee structure. Moreover, those pursuing regular courses would also be permitted to enroll in these online courses, allowing them to get a dual degree.

IIT JAM 2026 registration begins!

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has begun the registration for the Joint Admission Test for Master’s (IIT JAM) 2026. The registration began on September 5, 2025. Now, you can apply for postgraduate programmes, including MSc, MSc-PhD dual degree, and integrated PhD, across 22 IITs and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). A total of 3,000 seats are available for candidates.

You can apply for the IIT JAM on the official JOAPS portal at jam2026.iitb.ac.in. The final deadline to register for the postgraduate programmes is October 12. Once you register, you would receive an enrollment ID and OTP. Use the details to open and fill out the application form on JOAPS and upload all the crucial documents. Pay the registration fee to appear for the admission test.

Medical Commission allots 190 new MMS seats in 5 five government medical colleges in J&K

In a recent development, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 190 new seats across five government medical colleges in Jammu & Kashmir. The allotment now allows 50 seats each in Government Medical Colleges in Kathua, Doda, Baramulla, and 20 seats each in Srinagar and Jammu. This has boosted the MBBS intake capacity in the Union Territory from 1,185 to 1,375 seats.

The idea behind this expansion is to provide opportunities for aspiring medical enthusiasts across the UT of J&K. Moreover, this step would help improve J&K’s medical healthcare system by producing more trained medical professionals. According to the reports, the commission is all set to announce additional seats before the third round of counselling.

CBSE begins registration process for children with special needs

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a separate portal for the Children with Special Needs (CWSN). With this portal, CBSE has created a single window for CWSN students to access facilities and exemptions. The registration schedule for CWSN sitting for class 10th and 12th board examinations 2026 is out.

The registration for this portal shall begin on September 9, 2025 and end on September 22, 2025. It is the duty of each CBSE-affiliated school to submit requests for CSWN-related facilities through the Pariksha Sangam Portal. Once the registration is done, the facilities shall be reflected on the admit cards, making it mandatory for the exam centres to make the necessary arrangements.

NDA, CDS Admit Card 2025 out!

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the admit cards for the National Defence Academy (NDA) Naval Academy, and Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination II 2025. You can open the official UPSC website to download your admit card at upsconline.nin.in. Please note that it is mandatory to carry your admit card on the day of the exam.

The NDA and CDS examination is scheduled for September 14, 2025. To download the admit card, you would need a registration ID or roll number. Make sure to read the instructions given on the admit card before the date of the examination. The CDS examination shall be conducted in three sessions, and the NDA examination would be conducted in two sessions.

Indian team wins 4 Gold and 1 Silver at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics

The Indian team, consisting of Banibrata Majee and Akshat Srivastava, has bagged Rank 1 in the 18th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA). The team won four gold medals and one silver medal. The competition was held in Mumbai between 300 participants from 64 different countries.

Both Banibrata Majee and Akshat Srivastava prepared under the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) selected via the national process run by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). Their daily routine to prepare for the olympiad included mixed problem sets, theoretical reading, and mock tests.
