For this, you first have to pursue an undergraduate degree in commerce or can simultaneously prepare for this professional course. A CA can work independently or in an auditing firm, a consulting firm, and the finance department of a company among other institutions.
The first thing which comes to your mind after 12th commerce is enrolling in a Bachelor of Commerce Programme. This degree programme consists of subjects like economics, accounting, business law, finance, statistics, bookkeeping, and other related areas. Generally, you need Mathematics as a subject in your 12th for this course. However, when combined with some interdisciplinary specialisations like marketing, HR, etc. Maths is not required.
It is a management-based three-year undergraduate programme. Company Secretary: It is a professional course designed to equip students with the skills to become a company advisor in legal, finance and governance departments. The certification is issued by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and is equivalent to a master’s degree. As it is a professional course, it has three levels: foundation for 10+2 pass-outs, executive for CSEET/foundation/graduation students and professional level for working executives.
