What You Will Learn?

As this course teaches about the mechanical systems on ships, learners will have the opportunity to learn about various theories and systems associated with marine engineering. In addition to providing knowledge about different ship systems, the course will also cover the basic knowledge of each part and mechanism applied to these systems. Some of the specific concepts you’ll learn in this course are as follows:

Thermodynamic laws with the concepts of entropy and enthalpy

Steam engines, steam cycles, and steam turbines

Shafting, transmission systems, bearings, thrust blocks, stern tubes, and lubrication

IC engine fundamentals, V-type engines, cycles, and indicator diagrams

Anyone in their sophomore year of engineering courses, such as basic electrical engineering, applied mathematics, and thermodynamics, can opt for this course.
