About Executive MBA Programmes
The Executive MBA (Master of Business Administration) programme is similar to any regular MBA degree but it is specifically designed for executives and senior managers who are currently employed. EMBA degrees give flexibility to working professionals to continue with their jobs while pursuing their studies. These programmes are a blend of classroom teachings conducted on evenings or weekends and online classes. Along with this, the course structure also includes tutorials and occasional workshops. Depending on the college or university, the degree can be of one or two years. Some institutions provide full-time residential courses or part-time programmes, whereas few ed-tech platforms deliver courses in the online mode.
Executive MBA graduates possess an advanced skill base which helps them enhance their career prospects. As candidates who opt for these programs are corporate executives, its course structure is completely based on real-life experiences and leadership challenges that professionals often face. While a regular MBA is widely preferred by fresh graduates, Executive MBA is considered beneficial for professionals with more than 3 years of experience as it aids in upskilling that specifically aligns with your work profile.

Importance of Choosing the Right Specialisation
Executive MBA programmes encompass an intensive curriculum to reinforce expertise and fill the knowledge gap in order to explore bigger opportunities and higher salary packages. Broadly, this programme covers coursework in finance and accounting, strategic management, operations management, marketing, human resource and other core areas of business. While the basic course structure is the same for every EMBA course, the difference lies in the selection of specialisation.
There is a combination of minors and majors which helps candidates to customise their degrees as per their interests and needs. Sitting in an executive position, what an Executive MBA aspirant needs is a pathway to refine his existing skills and specialise in a particular area. Therefore, choosing the right specialisation helps you get a more streamlined job role in the industry and gives deeper knowledge of the chosen field.
The following things should be done while choosing a specialisation:
Assess your interests, strengths and capability
Demand for that particular specialisation in the market
Analyse if the coursework is aligning with your needs
