Since the day, Maulana Azad National Urdu University was incepted, its Directorate of Distance Education has been functional. The DDE centre has 9 regional centres and 6 sub regional centres accross the country to provide academic and administrative support to students. The institution facilitates students with audio-visual material to the students and also hard copy of self-learning material. Various programmes offered by the university are at par with offline courses and intend to reach the a larger population of students.

Distance MA	A recognised bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Urdu as a subject/language or as medium in 10th/12th/graduation level or equivalent Madrasa courses approved by MANUU with Urdu as medium of instruction.
Distance BA	I. Pass in intermediate (10+2) or equivalent. II. Candidate must have studied through Urdu medium or Urdu as a subject/language at 10th level or above or equivalent Madrasa course approved by MANUU with Urdu as medium of instruction
Distance BCom	I. Pass in intermediate (10+2) or equivalent. II. Candidate must have studied through Urdu medium or Urdu as a subject/language at 10th level or above or equivalent Madrasa course approved by MANUU with Urdu as medium of instruction
Distance BSc	10 + 2 or intermediate (Science stream with Mathematics). Candidate must have studied through Urdu medium or Urdu as a subject/language at 10th or 12th or equivalent Madrasa course approved by MANUU with Urdu as medium of instruction.
Distance Diploma	A recognised bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Distance Certification Programme	Pass in class 10th from any recognised board or equivalent.
Distance BEd	(i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education. (ii) Candidates who have completed NCTE recognised teacher education programme through face-to-face mode.

The admissions process takes place in online mode. Fresh admission starts from the month of January of every year.
