Being the first open university in India which is located in Hyderabad, Telangana, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), formerly known as Andhra Pradesh Open University, is a government open university for distant learning. BRAOU, which was founded in 1982, has been accredited by the NAAC with a A grade and accepted by the UGC. Throughout the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, BRAOU is run by a network of 213 study centres, which includes 23 Regional Coordination Centres (RCCs). The open university provides access to large number of non-formal learners to the undergraduate programmes with courses designed innovatively as foundation courses, core courses and application oriented courses along with using multiple modes (print and electronic) for delivery of instruction.

Distance BLISAn applicant seeking admission in to the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc) must be a Graduate of a recognized university. The following is the admission procedure in order of preference : a) Graduates Working in a recognized library with a minimum of one year experience in a regular or substantial post of the rank of a Record Assistant or above (Experience certificate proforma enclosed at page no. 40); b) Graduates with Diploma or Certificate in Library Science from Government recognized institutions; c) Professional graduates (Law, Pharmacy, Engineering) and d) Graduates with 50% aggregate marks and 5% relaxation will be allowed in case of SC/ST/BC/PH candidates.
Distance BEd1.The candidate should be an Indian citizen. 2.Candidates should have passed with at least 50% of marks either in B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.C.A./ B.Sc.(Home Science)/BBM and/or in the Masters Degree in Commerce/Social Sciences/Humanities/Sciences at the time of submitting the application for B.Ed. Entrance Test. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% marks in B.E/B.Tech. With Science/ Mathematics as one of the subject or any other qualification equivalent there to, are eligible for admission to the programme. However the candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/PH should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination. 3.Candidates appearing for final year examination in Qualifying Examination (Bachelor or a Higher Degree) can also apply. But they will be required to submit the marks memo and pass certificate at the time of admission Counselling. Otherwise they are not allowed for admission. The candidate must also fulfil the above conditions along with any one of the 4 or 5 of the following. 4.Trained in-service teachers in elementary education 5.Candidates who have completed a NCTE recognised teacher education programme through face-to-face mode. 6.The reservation for SC/ST/BC/PH categories shall be as per the rules inforce. 7.Candidate should have completed 21 years as on 1st July 2019. No upper age limit. Note:AspertheGOMSNo:92,the candidates who passed M.B.B.S/B.D.S/BPT/B.A.M.S./B.L/L.L.B/B.A.(Languages)/BOL etc. and other such professional courses are not eligible for admission into B.Ed. course
Distance MAAll Indian citizens with a bachelor's degree in any field from an Indian university that is accredited by the UGC and a member of the Association of Indian Universities are eligible to apply for admission to the two-year postgraduate programme.
Distance MScBachelor's degree in any required discipline.
Distance MComAdmission to a two-year programme of postgraduate study All citizens who hold a B. Com., B.B.M., or B.A. degree from any accredited university and have commerce as one of their optional subjects are eligible to apply for the M. Com. (English Medium).
Distance MLISAll Indian citizens who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply for admission to the M.L.I.Sc. programme: The following are the minimal requirements for enrollment in MLISc: i) A BLISc degree from any accredited university; and ii) A minimum of 40% in BLISc for all candidates and 35% for candidates from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes in order to qualify. The order of merit in the marks earned in BLISc for all categories will be used to determine the candidates' admissions process. It is mandatory to adhere to the government's norms and regulations concerning university seat reservations.
Distance MBAStudents get admitted to the University's MBA programmes based on their standing in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states' joint ICET (Integrated Common Entrance Test for MBA & MCA) exams. The ICET rank earned during a certain academic year is only good for admission to the MBA programme that year. Only recent graduates and those who are currently employed are eligible to apply for the MBA programme.
Distance MPhilFor admission to an M.Phil programme, a candidate must have a Master's degree in the relevant field from an accredited university with a minimum of 55% marks (or 50% for students from SC/ST categories).
Distance PhDThe candidate must hold a Master's degree from an accredited university in the relevant topic or in any related field with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in the case of reserved categories), OR must have passed UGC, JRF, NET, SLET, M.Phil., etc. Candidates must have earned a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university, or from an allied subject approved by the relevant university, with at least 55% marks (or 50% for reserved categories).
Distance DiplomaA candidate must either have equivalent qualifications from an accredited university or be sponsored by the Press Academy of Telangana/Andhra Pradesh and have at least three years of experience in a related field or an equivalent test.
Distance Certificate ProgrammeStudents who have completed their intermediate coursework may apply to the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Certificate Programme.
