Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya was once known as the University of Indore when it was founded in 1964. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded the university a A+ accreditation. DAVV Indore has affiliations with more than 220 universities. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted the university recognition. The institution is home to over thirty institution Teaching Departments (UTDs), including the School of Physics, School of Life Sciences, School of Instrumentation, School of Languages, and the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC). The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) provides multimedia methods of teaching and learning, and aims at giving equal opportunity to students from different background.
