NEET Exam Result 2026: Tie-Breaking Rule
NEET is one of the biggest entrance exams in India, with lakhs of aspirants every year. In case two or more aspirants secure the same score, the NTA decides on the NEET merit list based on the following tie-breaking criteria.
✅ Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by,
✅ Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry in the Test, followed by,
✅ Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Physics in the Test,
✅ Candidate with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test,
✅ Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by
✅ Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test, followed by
✅ Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test, followed by
✅ In case, all criteria are exhausted and tie still persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.

NEET Result 2026: Rechecking & Re-evaluation
The National Testing Agency does not provide options for re-checking/re-evaluation of the answer sheets. As per the NEET exam official brochure, OMRs are machine gradable and are evaluated through specific software impartial to all. Moreover, aspirants are offered an opportunity to make the representation on the OMR gradation of their OMR sheets and also given an opportunity to challenge the answer key in case of any doubt. NEET result 2025 is prepared based on the final answer key released after considering all objections.
