OVERVIEW OF MHCET

The MH CET-MBA is a state-level management entrance test held by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), the government body responsible for technical education in Maharashtra. It is also known as the MAH-CET MBA exam and consists of 200 questions in multiple-choice format lasting 2.5 hours (150 minutes). The exam is conducted in the month of March every year. It holds immense significance as its score is valid for admission to over 100 management colleges across Maharashtra. Admission to the management courses is a centralized process and is covered under the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). This test is held in an online (computer-based) mode. It is one of the major MBA Entrance Exams which give the candidates access to premier Management colleges across Maharashtra like JBIMS Mumbai, SIMSREE Mumbai, KJ SIMSR Mumbai, etc. Every MBA entrance exam has its own level of difficulty when you compare it with other MBA entrance exams. The CET exam difficulty level also varies from student to student.

MAH CET: Exam Pattern

MAH CET 2021 has been delayed due to covid-19 pandemic. The MAH CET Exam Pattern is quite different from other MBA Entrance Exams. It leads to admission in various UGC approved MBA/MMS and AICTE approved PGDM courses in about 300+ MBA colleges across the state of Maharashtra. There had been no recorded change related to exam format or content in MAH CET 2020.

MAH- CET SECTION WISE BREAKUP

MAH-CET is somewhat different from the CAT exam. Though it is an aptitude test, there is a little leverage provided to the test taker in terms of the difficulty level of the questions. However, but It is mandatory for a candidate to understand section-wise breakup of MAH CET. He/she must understand the individual weightage and the total marks allotted to each section in order to identify their preparation strategy for the management entrance test.

MH CET Eligibility Criteria

Those who are aspiring to take admission to MBA programs at the participating institutes of MAH CET, will have to appear for the entrance test. Before filling the MAH CET MBA 2021 application form, candidates should check the academic details which fall under the eligibility criteria of MAH CET 2021.

  • Candidates should have completed their Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of duration from any institution/ university which should be recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities
  • Candidates must be done their graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50 percent marks in total aggregate or its equivalent. (45 percent marks in total aggregate for backward class and those disabled candidates who belong to Maharashtra state)
  • Note – Those who are pursuing their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for MAH CET 2021

MAH CET Syllabus 2021

The authorities of State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra have prescribed the syllabus of MAH CET. Having said that, on the basis of the previous year’s MAH CET question paper, given in the table below, are the sections from which the questions may be asked.

MAH CET REGISTRATION PROCESS

MAH CET Registration process is online. The application is accepted for MBA admission to 1st Year of 2 year full time Post Graduate Degree course in Management (MBA/MMS) in the Government, Govt. Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes in the Maharashtra State.MAH CET 2021 registration Fee is Rs.800/- for Maharashtra State (MS) candidates and Rs.1000/- for All India Category (OMS) candidates. 

Every candidate appearing for the MAH-CET Exam should be aware of the Registration process to ensure that it is carried out without any hurdles.

Before registering for MH CET MBA 2021 exam, candidates should consider the following points:

  1. The candidate needs to have an active personal Email ID and mobile number for later use.
  2. In case you do not have a valid email ID, please create a new one.
  3. For photo and signature, you need to scan both the things and upload them in the registration window. Photo size should fall between 20KB to 50KB and signature should fall between 10KB and 20KB.
  4. The candidate needs to submit the application fees online for MH-CET which is non-refundable. The bank deductions during payment also need to be managed by the candidate.
