Candidates are eligible if they have completed their Class 12 (in the 10+2 pattern of examination) from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination with Physics and Mathematics.
OR
Candidates have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of 5 subjects, including Physics and Mathematics.
OR
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a 10+2 system with Physics and Mathematics.
OR
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics and Mathematics / International Baccalaureate (IB).
Remember that the Candidates taking their board examinations in the year of admission are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the eligibility criteria at the time of seat allotment during the admission process.
Admissions to the BFTech program are predominantly provided by NIFT and very few private colleges. The NIFT entrance exam is a national-level entrance exam that enables candidates to secure seats in government colleges. BFTech is a four-year undergraduate program whose curriculum is spread over eight semesters. Students develop a deep understanding of apparel production, designing, quality control, operational knowledge, and merchandising.
The learning curriculum includes a variety of topics that discuss fashion representation, fabric printing, and computer applications on fabric in the first two semesters. Likewise, the third and fourth semesters involve topics like different creative textile arts, advanced design illustrations, and different ways of fabric ornamentation.
The fifth and sixth semesters teach you about fashion forecasting and trend study. You can learn about building your fashion portfolio, styling, and photography.
